Financial Accountant

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of accounting reports. As a Financial Accountant at DRIFT, you will be responsible for managing the financial processes and records for our three legal entities, with the main focus on our primary production company. Your role will involve meticulous bookkeeping, expert accounting advice and seamless coordination of operational processes.
You will be:
Overseeing the Bookkeeping Process: Manage the bookkeeping for multiple legal entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Providing Expert Accounting Support: Be an expert in accounting questions, advise on specific events and transaction recognition, correction, processing and preparing necessary calculations and accruals.
Managing Invoices and Payments: Process invoices for payment and oversee payment cycles to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
Streamlining Monthly Closures: Introduce and maintain an efficient monthly closing process using Exact, our ERP system.
Annual Closure and Reporting: Oversee the annual closure process and assist in preparing the annual report in collaboration with external parties.
Developing Accounting Policies and Procedures: Set up and optimize accounting policies and internal processes, including invoice approvals, expense refunds, credit card expenses and others.
Supporting Management Reporting: Contribute to monthly management reporting, budget preparation, and financial forecasts.
Advising on Finance-Related Matters: Provide answers to ad-hoc financial questions related to new projects and other business needs.
Strong Financial Management Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
Proactive Problem-Solving:
Ability to anticipate and resolve financial issues promptly and independently.
Efficient in managing financial systems and processes.
High Professional Standards in Accounting:

Master’s degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance or similar field.
Minimum 3 years of experience as Financial Accountant, Business Administrator, Controller or similar role preferably in production, creative or art related company
Familiarity with ERP systems and Exact in particular
Good eye for improvement, proactive, deadline oriented and able to work independently
High personal working standard (organised, attentive to details, accurate, diligent, responsive)
Good communicator, fluent in English with good knowledge of Dutch
Full time employment (40 hour workweek), primarily in the studio space
Travel allowance if you live outside Amsterdam.
