Junior Visual Designer

At DRIFT we're looking for a Junior Visual Designer to join our team.

Full-time · Amsterdam

At DRIFT, we’re looking for a Junior Visual Designer to join our Future Projects team and help shape the next generation of immersive experiences at the intersection of art, design, and technology.

Are you a highly visual thinker with a background in art, design, or architecture—someone who’s captivated by the emotional power of light and space? As a Junior Visual Designer, you’ll collaborate with our Sales, Marketing, Exhibitions, and Future Projects teams to develop impactful visual proposals and design concepts for installations and artworks across the globe. Your work will play a key role in telling visual stories that are innovative, poetic, and deeply human.

What You’ll Do

  • Design immersive and conceptual visual proposals that support major exhibitions, client pitches, and future-focused projects

  • Translate abstract ideas into compelling sketches, renders, and animations that communicate the essence of each project

  • Work across 2D and 3D media using Rhino/Grasshopper, Blender, Unreal Engine, and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop presentations, pitch decks, technical drawings and visualizations for high-profile international partners

  • Help shape new visual languages at the cutting edge of light, motion, and experience

We would love it if you have

  • A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in art, design, architecture, spatial design, game design, or a related discipline

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in a creative studio or design practice

  • Strong fascination with light as a medium, and a deep interest in contemporary art and immersive experiences

  • Excellent visual storytelling skills, from hand sketches to polished 3D renders and animation

  • Proficiency in Rhino/Grasshopper, Blender, Enscape, Unreal Engine, and Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects)

  • A collaborative spirit, attention to detail, and comfort working across teams

  • Based in the Netherlands or willing to relocate to Amsterdam

What you can expect from us

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Travel allowance if you live outside Amsterdam

  • A MacBook to help you perform your tasks efficiently.

  • Regular company days and staff social meet-ups

  • You will be part of a creative and dynamic team where your contributions matter and your voice is heard

  • You'll be working in an environment where art, creativity, and technology converge, offering a unique and inspiring work atmosphere in our studio
